Rolex Datejust Ref. 1601/3 Steel and Gold No-Lume
As perfectly demonstrated by this Datejust 1601/3, sometimes less really is more. 👀 I think this is the perfect head only listing, because the head itself is very very interesting. Rolex used to make no-lume dials for the Datejust series. Interestingly, these dials were still stamped T Swiss T, but there is no lume on them. Adding lume to the dial was one of the last steps in the production process and for these dials they just chose not to. For the hands, they simply installed examples without any gaps for filling. While at a distance this may look like every other Datejust, I find it just one of those interesting details. This is why vintage is still the best way to go, sorry not sorry. Oh and talking about the best way to go. This Datejust from 1969 is in insane condition still and was very well taken care of. The suede strap makes the watch a bit less serious, I personally love the casualness. 😌 If you are looking for a beautiful example, this would be a great choice!
